Our club was originally chartered in 1972 as the Rotary Club of Almeda with 15 members. Our sponsor was the Rotary Club of Sharpstown. As the geography of the region changed, so did our club. The club became known as the Rotary Club of Almeda-South Post Oak after a number of years. In the year 2000, our club changed it's name again to the current, and much shorter name of Braes Bayou.
